Based in San Francisco, offering in-person sessions and online therapy throughout California

Specialized Therapy for Overthinkers

Do you find yourself in a constant state of ‘doing’ in order to stay regulated and out of your own head? Are you trying to care less about what others think of you? Have you been making lists (or spreadsheets?) to try to decide whether or not to make that big change in your career, your relationship, or the address saved as “home” in Google maps?

I work best with individuals who refer to themselves as “over-thinkers” and are looking for new ways to manage social anxiety, panic attacks, people pleasing, imposter syndrome, and/or burnout driven by patterns of overachievement. My clients tend to be high performers, athletes, career-driven professionals, future students in higher education, highly sensitive people (HSPs), and creatives. I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist who has pivoted from athlete to artist/filmmaker to research doctorate/professor to psychotherapist. We’ll roll up our sleeves together and create an action plan that will allow you to move into the next chapter of your story. Contact me for a free consultation if you’d like to talk more about:

Offering in-person therapy and online therapy in California

I offer therapy services for adults and mature adolescents at my office in San Francisco. Virtual sessions are available to everyone in California and North Carolina through a secure, HIPAA compliant video platform. We can even create a hybrid schedule or make time for a walk in the park if you’re in the Bay Area. Either way, I can help you examine the thoughts and beliefs that are getting in the way of moving towards what is most important to you.

  • the nagging feeling of being disconnected from others, or of trying to make everyone else a little more comfortable

  • what it would feel like if you could break free from your inner critic

  • the feeling that you’re lacking, despite a mountain of accomplishments

  • setting boundaries to balance your time and energy without feeling guilty, like you’re letting everyone down

  • finally getting better at communicating what you need

  • maintaining your active lifestyle and mindset as an athlete, even if you’re injured

Dr. Amy Waldron, LMFT offers online therapy and in-person therapy to treat anxiety
  1. First, book a free 15-minute video consultation with me. You can ask any questions you have, and I can learn more about what brings you to therapy

  2. If we’re a good fit, we can schedule a 50-minute session, either in-person or online via a secure platform. Before your session, I’ll send you an intake packet that you can fill out electronically in your own time. During our first session, you can tell me more about what brings you to therapy and what you’d like to get out of our time together.

  3. We can set up ongoing weekly sessions from there. Everyone is different, so the amount of time you spend in therapy will depend on your unique needs and goals.

How it works

Whether you have struggled with anxiety for as long as you can remember, are recently finding yourself searching the internet for “what does a panic attack feel like?”, have faced a change or loss in your career, relationship, purpose, priorities, or city… or if you are simply curious about how to better manage the daily stressors of life, I can help you. I’ve been there, too.

I’m here to help you live out your highest values, free from perfectionism and other self-imposed limitations
